Karen had been involved in various community and professional theatre roles, including as a Stage Manager for Tropical Arts Theatre’s MacBeth and Taming of the Shrew. Cairns’ Rondo Theatre’s pantomime of Beauty and the Beast, Cairns Regional Council’s Beginnings as part of the 2018 Commonwealth Games. Most recently Karen acted as Assistant Stage Manager for All Fired Up by Box Jelly Theatre Co as it toured to Brisbane and regional Far North Queensland, and as Stage Manager on Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music’s season of Xanadu.
Karen has also Stage Managed for Box Jelly Theatre’s pantomime in Cairns, as well as Tour and Stage Manager for a schools tour of Reasons to Stay Inside, and an immersive performance of Summer of the 17th Doll. Recent projects have included stage managing State Opera of South Australia’s La Traviata.
In addition to Theatrical work, Karen has been Stage Manager on the main stage at Cooktown Discovery Festival as well as various other roles in events and festivals including Cairns Festival and Adelaide Festival.
Current projects include Lighting Design for Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music’s season of Ladies in Black, Producer/Production Manager/Stage Manager for ARC Creative Ensemble’s Beyond the Waves, and an upcoming season of Summer of the 17th Doll for Box Jelly Theatre Co.
Karen is currently studying Bachelor of Theatre (Technical Theatre ) at CQUniversity.
